Maartje Nelissen
left Holland in 1981, settled herself in Paris, working at the Dutch Cultural Institute (Institut Néerlandais), making a steep career from receptionist to executive secretary and head of the Music Department. Since the Institure was closed in 2013 she organises workshops and courses herself, and she was intermediary between musicians and concert organisations.
She plays the traverse flute and she lets herself go in her new house also, in that other passion of hers: cooking!
Her hospitable and merry character, in combination with her beautiful house in a lovely part of France, her love for music and nature and her gastronimical talents are a guarantee for a perfect stay between the old towers of Arbonne.

Peter de Groot
is a singer (countertenor), conductor and musicologist, with a specialisation in Renaissance and Baroque music. Born in a Dutch polder, he studied in Arnhem, lived in Brielle, Woudrichem and Rotterdam, and he married Maartje. They lived in Paris and Chellles but eventually bought this magnificent house with its 15th century towers. There, he likes to smoke his pipe and to read in his library (notably Dutch and French literature).
Since his settlement at Arbonne a developped a certain zeal and skill in chopping wood.
He considers the reception of guests at
Les Tours d'Arbonne as a privelege and a pleasure.
